The Billings are given the antidote. When Frank visits them in the hospital, before entering their room, he sees them with Jack, who is joking with them. He silently walks back to his car, where Tarconi is waiting. He drops his friend at the airport. Alone, Frank receives a call from a man who needs a transporter, to which he replies: "I'm listening."
Transporter 2 opened in the United States on 2 September 2005. During its opening weekend, the film grossed $16 million in the U.S. In total, it earned $43 million in the U.S. and $85 million worldwide.
The film received mixed reviews. On Rotten Tomatoes, the film has a score of 52% based on reviews from 122 critics and reports a rating average of 5.41/10, with the reported consensus: "A stylish and more focused sequel to The Transporter, the movie is over-the-top fun for fans of the first movie." At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the film received an average score of 56 based on 29 reviews, indicating "mixed or average reviews". Audiences polled by CinemaScore gave the film an average grade of "B+" on an A+ to F scale.
Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times awarded the film 3 stars out of 4 and called it better than the original. In a special to The Los Angeles Times on the same day as the film's US release, director Louis Leterrier stated that Frank Martin was "the first gay action movie hero", suggesting that the character comes out when he refuses a woman's advances by saying, "It's because of who I am." This is contradicted by the plot of Transporter 3 where Frank Martin has sex with the female character he is transporting, and they end up together in what seems a permanent relationship. Three days after the US theatrical release of Transporter 3, in which Frank Martin develops a heterosexual relationship, the writer of Leterrier's 2005 interview with the Times e-mailed Leterrier about his opinion of the third film, which he did not direct. Leterrier seemed to backtrack, stating that after re-watching his first two films, "they aren't that gay".
The soundtrack album for Transporter 2 was released in the United States on 6 September 2005 by TVT Records. It features sixteen tracks recorded by various artists, including the film score composed Alexandre Azaria. James Christopher Monger from Allmusic rated the album three stars out of five, citing Grand National's "Talk Amongst Yourselves", Anggun's "Saviour" and Mylo's "Paris Four Hundred" as the highlights of the soundtrack.
A 2008 sequel, entitled Transporter 3, was released in the U.S. on 26 November 2008. The film follows Frank Martin as he returns to France. It is the only film in the Transporter trilogy to be distributed by Lionsgate in the US.
In Miami, the professional driver Frank Martin (Jason Statham) is working temporarily for the Billings family, transporting their son Jack (Hunter Clary) while his driver is on vacation. Mr. Billings (Matthew Modine) is an important member of the government and Mrs. Audrey Billings (Amber Valletta) trusts on Frank, who promises to protect the boy. When Jack is kidnapped by a mercenary hired by the Colombian cartels, Frank faces the criminals and the Miami police force trying to rescue the kid. When the boy returns to his family, Jack discloses the real and lethal intention of the abduction of Jack."Le Transporteur II" is a great action movie that certainly will never be indicated to an Oscar or discussed by intellectuals at a table in a bar, but very entertaining and recommended for fans of James Bond, Jackie Chan, Jet Li and movies with car chase and explosions. The story is full of adrenaline, funny most of the time, with very hilarious sequences. The performance of Matthew Modine and his grimaces is the negative point of this film. My vote is seven.Title (Brazil): "Carga Explosiva 2" ("Explosive Cargo 2")
Held Great Promise, But Got Carried Away As with so many action movie sequels of today, filmmakers take what was successful and beat it to death on the second film. Usually it is the violence that is way overplayed and this film is a perfect example. The first movie, "The Transporter," had its share of action, but didn't cross the line and was very entertaining. This sequel gets ridiculous and insulting. The first third of this movie is outstanding; the second third "fair" and the final third so ludicrous I kept looking at the clock to see how much time was left in the film. The latter got out of hand with one "Kill Bill"-type fight scene or car chase after another, each scene being less credible than the one before it. These filmmakers just don't know when enough is enough!Once again, you have likable hero is Jason Startham as "Frank martin," the ex-Special Forces agent who is a now a "transporter." You have some wild-looking villains, especially in "Lola" (Kate Nauta ) who competes with Tammy Fae Baker n the makeup department (except this woman is hot) and you have an interesting story. There is just no restraint in it. Too bad because this film has a lot of style to it and held great promise in that first half hour

Bumper: The viewer's screen suddenly starts the bumper off with a scene of a female teenager beginning to illegally download a movie from a feature films website. Then, it suddenly cuts to another screen, with lights rapidly moving past. The words "YOU WOULDN'T STEAL A CAR" in Xband Rough appear, zoom out, and then act like a speaker. Then, a scene of someone trying to steal a car appears. "YOU WOULDN'T STEAL A HANDBAG" then appears and does the same animation as the first words, with the same background as before. Then, a man steals a woman's purse in yet another scene. "YOU WOULDN'T STEAL A TELEVISION" is the next few words to appear on the background and do the animation. Someone from a house hands yet another man a television, and then the man walks off with it in the neighborhood. Lastly, "YOU WOULDN'T STEAL A MOVIE" gets to do the animation and be on the background. Yet another man walks in, takes a DVD of a movie off of a shelf, and puts it in his pocket. After that, everything reverses, and then the sentence "DOWNLOADING PIRATED FILMS IS STEALING" (the words one by one, with the exception of "IS STEALING") appears, and then the bumper comes back to the computer. Then, "STEALING IS AGAINST THE LAW" (two by two, with the exception of "STEALING") appears, as the background screen and the scene constantly change to each other. Then, the teenager cancels the download, and walks away from the computer, picking up her backpack in the process. After that, the background screen appears, with the words "PIRACY. IT'S A CRIME." shaking on the center of the screen. The bumper then cuts to black.
"As film exhibition in North America crowds itself ever more narrowly into predictable commercial fodder for an undemanding audience, we applaud those brave, free spirits who still hold faith with the unlimited potential of the cinema." - Roger
Earlier this week Wesley Morris of the Boston Globe became only the fourth film critic to receive a Pulitzer Prize, after Roger Ebert (Chicago Sun-Times, 1975), Stephen Hunter (Washington Post, 2003) and Joe Morgenstern (Wall Street Journal, 2005).
